Londesborough & Area

Londesborough is a small rural agricultural community of approximately 300 people. The village was established in 1861. The village is on Highway #4, approximately 1.25 hours North of London. It is approximately 15 Km East of Lake Huron. Londesborough is approximately 2.5 hours West of Toronto.

The manse is located in the village and is directly across the street from the Public School. The school has approximately 200 students. The High School is located 10 minutes away and the pupils are bussed to the school. Post Secondary Education is available in both London and Kitchener Waterloo, 1-1.5 hours away.

Located in the center of Huron County it is less than 20 minutes away from grocery and other shopping needs ( many of the nationally recognized stores). Movie theatres are located 15-20 minutes away and live theatre is available in Blyth, 5 minutes, or in Stratford, 50 minutes away.

There is a hospital located in Clinton, and most other medical services are all within 10 minutes. There are three more hospitals and several accredited retirement and nursing homes within a 20 minute drive.

The Lions Club and Masonic Lodge are located in Londesborough and two Legion Branches, located in Clinton and Blyth.

There is a new recreational complex, with indoor pool, gym, squash, racket ball courts and ice rink within 20 minutes. Londesborough is an active summer sports community with ball, soccer, and golf close by. In the winter, hockey, figure skating, broomball, bowling and curling are all within easy reach. The Hullett Marsh Conservation area is located five minutes away from the village. Boating and fishing, along with sandy beaches, are only 16 Km away, along Ontario’s West Coast. Many campgrounds and provincial parks are located within 20 minutes of Londesborough. Downhill and cross country skiing are within easy driving distance. Youth activities, such as 4H, Scouting, Karate, dance, etc. are close by.
